01 — The Foundation

What is SCIP?

SCIP (Substances of Concern In Products/Articles) is a database created under the EU Waste Framework Directive (WFD) that holds information on substances of concern in complex objects (products) or articles as such.

Since 5 January 2021, any company placing articles on the EU market that contain Substances of Very High Concern (SVHCs) from the Candidate List in concentrations above 0.1% weight by weight (w/w) must submit information about those articles to ECHA via the SCIP database.

Global PCCS partners with article producers, importers and downstream users to make SCIP notifications faster, cleaner and audit-ready.
